Title: Field Service Mechanic
Here’s how you’ll be a part of our team
Based at our Whyalla branch and servicing the surrounding region, you'll play a key role maintaining and repairing a diverse fleet of hire equipment at customer sites.This is a hands-on field service role offering variety, autonomy and the opportunity to work across earthmoving equipment, access equipment and general hire assets.This is a permanent full time role working Monday to Friday 7am - 3pm.
Duties include:
- Safe, effective and efficient preventative maintenance, servicing and overhaul of equipment as required.
- Deliver a level of trust and commitment to our customers that demonstrates Coates is the right supplier for their project needs.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults across a variety of equipment on customer sites, including large earthmoving equipment, generators, lighting plants, boom lifts and other access equipment.
- Manage stock levels of spare parts within your service vehicle to ensure repairs can be completed efficiently on site.

What you’ll bring to the role
- Relevant mechanical trade qualification
- Experience working on diesel engines, hydraulics, pneumatics and mechanical systems
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
- Current driver's licence (MR or HR licence advantageous)
- Forklift and/or EWP tickets highly regarded
- Experience with earthmoving equipment, access equipment or mobile plant highly desirable
- Strong commitment to safety and customer service
