Reporting directly to the Executive General Manager (EGM), North Business Unit, this is a highly visible leadership role with accountability for the performance, people, customers and growth of the Queensland North region.
Based in Townsville, the Regional Manager is responsible for a diverse network of branches across North Queensland and the Northern Territory, spanning a vast and strategically important region from Mackay in the south to Weipa in the north, and from Emerald in the west through to Darwin. This broad remit provides a unique opportunity to influence business performance across multiple markets, industries and communities.
As Regional Manager, you'll lead a geographically dispersed team, driving safe, profitable and customer-focused outcomes across the region. With the autonomy to shape strategy and influence results, you'll play a pivotal role in developing high-performing teams, strengthening customer partnerships and ensuring operational excellence across the business.
You'll also contribute to the successful delivery of major infrastructure projects and high-profile community and sporting events throughout the region, helping Coates continue to support the industries and communities that keep Australia moving.
What you’ll be responsible for:
Leading Safety Excellence
- Champion a strong safety culture across the region, ensuring safety remains at the heart of every decision and activity.
- Drive accountability, engagement and continuous improvement in safety performance.
Regional Leadership & Culture
- Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team of leaders across the branch network.
- Foster a culture of engagement, collaboration and accountability that enables people and teams to succeed.
Customer & Community Focus
- Build strong relationships with customers and key stakeholders, ensuring exceptional service and long-term partnerships.
- Support the delivery of major projects and events that contribute to the growth and success of the region.
Business Performance
- Develop and execute regional strategies that drive sustainable growth, profitability and operational excellence.
- Ensure regional performance targets are achieved through strong leadership, planning and execution.
Network & Asset Optimisation
- Partner with fleet, maintenance, transport and supply chain teams to maximise network performance and asset utilisation.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity and customer outcomes across the region
