Join Coates as the Group Manager – Portable Buildings, where you'll work closely with the Business Unit Executive to drive the rapid and sustainable growth of our Portable Buildings division. A key focus of this role is to align sales and operations with a consistent, professional approach that drives revenue growth and customer service excellence. The role also champions innovation through new products and services, fosters a strong safety-first culture, and ensures compliance with all internal and external standards.
You’ll enjoy variety in your role including:
- Drive the strategic planning and national expansion of Portable Buildings, including lifecycle management of products and development of innovative offerings.
- Monitor and report on performance against key financial, asset, and return metrics, ensuring targets are achieved and sustainable growth is maintained.
- Lead, coach, and manage senior team members to uphold a Safety-First culture, drive employee engagement, and deliver an exceptional customer experience.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external partners, support major tenders, manage the national opportunity pipeline, and represent Coates at industry events.
- Oversee contract compliance, policy development, competitor analysis, and adoption of new technologies to enhance service delivery and reporting capabilities.

What you’ll bring to the role
- Degree in Business Management or Project Management, supported by substantial leadership experience in hire, industrial plant, or construction sectors.
- Demonstrated success in leading large, complex organisations to achieve safety, operational, and financial outcomes.
- Extensive experience in portable building solutions, with a strong understanding of contractual obligations and evolving customer requirements. Skilled in analysing market and operational data to define and drive growth targets across complex business units.
- Strong track record in developing and implementing effective strategic plans in dynamic and competitive environments.
