The Accounts Receivable Team Leader plays a crucial role in managing the collection, administrative, and risk activities within the AR Collections Mid-Tier/Trades team. Reporting to the National Credit Manager, you will oversee the execution of collection processes, drive cash flow optimization, and mitigate risks, while ensuring adherence to policies and procedures. You'll be instrumental in building and maintaining strong customer relationships, contributing to the company's financial health, and managing the daily operations of the team.

In this leadership role, you’ll provide motivation, guidance, and support to your team, ensuring performance against key targets and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. This is a development-focused position with the opportunity for growth into the AR Admin Manager role.

  • Support the National Credit Manager with recommendations for doubtful debt provisioning and write-offs, helping keep the company on track.
  • Keep operations running like a well-oiled machine, ensuring credit activities stay intact with minimal disruption.

What you’ll bring to the role

  • Tertiary qualification in finance, or a related field (e.g., Certificate IV, CCE, or Diploma in Credit Management).
  • 6-8 years’ experience in Accounts Receivable and Credit Management, including at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Solid understanding of credit risk, collection techniques, and relevant legislation.
  • Ability to lead and develop teams, utilizing appropriate leadership styles to enhance capabilities and foster engagement.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on driving results and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with a wide range of stakeholders, from customers to senior management.
  • Familiarity with accounting principles and a solid understanding of the order-to-cash process.
