You'll be someone who takes ownership, follows through on commitments and is eager to develop your account management and commercial capabilities. With training, support and mentoring, you'll have the opportunity to grow your career while helping customers solve problems and achieve their goals.

Working closely with branch teams and specialists, you'll develop account plans, build long-term relationships and ensure customers receive an exceptional experience at every touchpoint.
This role offers the opportunity to work across a diverse range of industries including civil construction, mining, industrial maintenance, manufacturing, agriculture and energy.

  • Identify upcoming projects, shutdowns, maintenance programs and growth opportunities across your assigned territory.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers while actively seeking opportunities to grow and win new business.
  • Maintain key sales activities and performance metrics, including customer visits, pipeline management, pricing, quotations and sales reporting.
  • Prepare and present professional, commercially viable proposals that align with customer requirements and Coates' value proposition.
  • Work collaboratively with the Burnie and Launceston branch teams and broader sales and operations network to deliver seamless customer solutions.
  • Maintain a structured territory plan and customer visitation schedule to maximise customer engagement, relationship development and growth opportunities across Northern and North-West Tasmania.
  • Monitor customer activity, market trends and competitor movements to identify opportunities for business growth and improved customer outcomes.
  • Ensure timely follow-up and resolution of customer enquiries, issues and opportunities.
  • Comply with all company policies, procedures and safety requirements.

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrated initiative, accountability and a proactive approach to work.
  • The ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage competing demands.
  • Commercial curiosity and an interest in developing sales and account management expertise.
  • A current driver's licence and willingness to travel throughout the assigned territory.
