Title:  Solutions Sales Manager

Job Posting Date:  12 May 2026
Company:  Coates
Position Type:  Permanent Full Time

The next step in your career starts here…

If you are ready to move beyond transactional sales and into a leadership role where you can drive real commercial outcomes and develop a high-performing team, this could be the opportunity you have been looking for. As a Solutions Sales Manager at Coates, you will lead a team of sales professionals and solutions specialists across major projects and industries, delivering tailored equipment and service solutions that help customers get the job done safely, efficiently and sustainably.

This is not a role for someone looking to manage from the sidelines. You will be expected to set the standard — driving pipeline discipline, embedding a coaching culture, and holding your team accountable for the activity levels and behaviours that generate consistent revenue growth. You will champion the development of your Solutions Specialists, ensuring they are not only building a healthy sales funnel through structured call cycles, but actively upskilling the broader sales team to own and convert basic solutions opportunities independently.

At Coates, we empower our people to think differently, build trusted partnerships and make a real impact. You will be backed by a nationally recognised brand, strong operational support and a collaborative network of people who are genuinely passionate about customer success. If you are ready to lead, develop others and leave a lasting mark on the business, we would love to hear from you.

What a day may look like

In this role, you'll balance strategic leadership with direct commercial accountability across your region. Your days may include:

  • Leading and motivating your sales team to deliver consistent activity levels and revenue outcomes aligned to regional targets
  • Reviewing and managing the regional sales pipeline, ensuring quote discipline, accurate forecasting and timely progression of opportunities through the funnel
  • Coaching and developing your team through structured one-on-one sessions, pipeline reviews and field accompaniments to build capability and lift performance
  • Holding your Solutions Specialists accountable for maintaining a healthy and active sales funnel generated through a consistent and structured call cycle
  • Embedding a coaching culture within the team, ensuring Solutions Specialists are actively upskilling frontline sales staff to independently manage and own basic solutions quotes and proposals
  • Identifying and pursuing strategic opportunities across key accounts and project pipelines within your region
  • Partnering with internal stakeholders across operations, service and product teams to ensure seamless delivery and a strong customer experience
  • Participating in and leading weekly pipeline review sessions, coming prepared with specific actions, owners and timelines for at-risk or high-value opportunities
  • Escalating commercial risks promptly and ensuring all approvals and decisions are documented appropriately
  • Acting as a visible and engaged leader in the market, maintaining strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders across your region

What you'll bring to the role

You are a confident, commercially driven leader who thrives in a consultative environment and knows what it takes to build and sustain a high-performing sales team. You'll bring:

  • Proven experience in B2B or solutions-based sales, ideally within construction, infrastructure, industrial services or equipment hire
  • A demonstrated track record of leading and driving results-oriented sales teams, with the ability to set clear expectations, hold people accountable and consistently deliver against revenue targets
  • The ability to build a culture of activity discipline, pipeline rigour and continuous improvement across your team
  • A strong customer-first mindset, with the ability to build and maintain long-term partnerships at a senior stakeholder level
  • Commercial acumen and experience managing complex accounts, negotiations and tender processes
  • Strong coaching and people development skills, with a genuine commitment to lifting the capability of those around you
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the confidence to engage at all levels of an organisation
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities across a regional portfolio
  • A current driver's licence and flexibility to travel to customer sites as required

What you’ll get in return

We provide our team with a wide range of perks and benefits, including:

  • Development and career progression pathways
  • Flexible working options available — let’s discuss what works best for you
  • Access to our employee discounts, benefits & wellbeing program
  • Purchased additional leave program
  • Novated leasing and salary sacrifice
  • Paid Parental Leave
  • Volunteering opportunities through the Coates Foundation
