The Opportunity

As Business Development Manager – Power & HVAC, you’ll be the driving force behind business growth in your region.
You’ll identify new opportunities, strengthen existing partnerships, and deliver innovative solutions that solve complex customer challenges.

 

Your role combines strategic sales development, relationship management, and technical problem-solving — ensuring every customer interaction builds trust, value, and long-term success.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Grow the business – identify, qualify, and convert new opportunities across key industries including construction, infrastructure, and mining.
  • Build and manage strong partnerships to ensure repeat business and customer loyalty.
  • Work closely with customers to scope, quote, and deliver end-to-end Power & HVAC projects that meet performance and budget expectations.
  • Partner with engineering, operations, and service teams to ensure seamless project execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Stay across industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities to inform your sales strategy.
  • Meet and exceed sales, revenue, and growth targets through proactive engagement and strategic account planning.
  • Uphold Coates’ Safety-First values in every aspect of customer engagement and project delivery.

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven experience in business development, account management, or technical sales – ideally within the HVAC, refrigeration, or power generation industries.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a track record of achieving growth and exceeding sales targets.
  • Ability to translate technical solutions into business value for customers.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Trade or Engineering qualifications in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration and/or Electrical are preferred, Industry experience is acceptable for the right candidate.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented, with strong organisational and planning skills.
  • Current driver’s licence.
