Based at the Coates Karratha branch, the Leading Hand – Portable Buildings plays a key role in leading a small team to safely and efficiently service hire equipment, while supporting the coordination and supply of equipment to meet customer and project requirements.

Your typical day will include:

  • Leading and supporting a small team responsible for the maintenance, service, overhaul, and repair of hire equipment
  • Ensuring all work is completed in line with trade practices, safety standards, and internal procedures
  • Providing technical advice and hands-on support to maximise team productivity and collaboration
  • Assisting with daily work planning and equipment readiness to meet customer, project, and branch priorities
  • Supporting the preparation and supply of equipment for project sites, including shutdowns, events, installations, and customer-specific projects
  • Maintaining accurate service, compliance, and repair records
  • Minimising downtime and ensuring equipment is customer-ready and site compliant

What you’ll bring to the role

  • A relevant trade qualification OR experience in building, construction, maintenance, or hire equipment environments
  • Experience delivering the safe and efficient servicing, maintenance, overhaul, and repair of equipment
  • Confidence in providing technical advice and guidance to improve team performance and job quality
  • Ability to plan and coordinate work priorities to meet customer, project, and branch requirements
  • Customer-focused mindset, with the flexibility to adapt to changing site needs
  • Excellent troubleshooting, diagnostic, and preventative maintenance skills
  • A safety-first approach, with a strong focus on compliance and organised work practices
  • A current driver’s licence (MR or HR preferred)
  • Forklift and EWP licences are advantageous but not essential
