About the Role

We're looking for a Technical Engineer – Site to join our Engineering Solutions team. This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer who enjoys being hands-on, working closely with customers, and ensuring temporary works solutions are delivered safely, compliantly and to the highest quality standards.

 

As a Technical Engineer – Site, you are required to manage commission and maintain as part of this role the national load monitoring telemetric equipment. You will also be responsible for the quality assurance and quality control of Coates' temporary works engineered solutions across customer sites within your region.

 

Working alongside customers, field teams, contractors and engineering stakeholders, you'll provide technical expertise across a range of solutions including:

 

  • Telemetric site monitoring equipment
  • Structural propping
  • Excavation Hydraulic shoring
  • Hydraulic lift and shift systems

 

You'll play a critical role in supporting engineering compliance, conducting inspections, identifying and rectifying non-conformances, deploying monitoring technology, and managing our contractor management platform, Procore.

 

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Deploy, commission and maintain wireless telemetric site monitoring systems.
  • Champion Coates' Safety First culture across all customer and stakeholder interactions.
  • Conduct site inspections and provide technical reports, handovers and certifications.
  • Support customers and internal teams with safe and effective temporary works methodologies.
  • Provide technical advice and product information to assist customers in making informed decisions.
  • Attend site meetings and provide guidance on best-practice installation and use of temporary works solutions.
  • Manage and support the ongoing use of Procore across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coach and train customers and colleagues on products, solutions and compliance requirements.
  • Continuously improve engineering processes, systems and site data capture capabilities.
  • Stay current with industry standards, emerging technologies and engineering best practices.

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering with 3+ years' engineering experience in consultancy, construction or project environments.
  • Strong understanding of structural behaviour, temporary works solutions, and civil/structural construction methodologies.
  • Sound knowledge of Australian Standards, engineering codes and safe work practices.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
  • Safety-focused, detail-oriented and customer-centric, with a collaborative and proactive approach.
  • Passion for continuous improvement, innovation and delivering high-quality outcomes.
