Step into a high-impact role as a Major Account Manager at Coates, working as part of our Strategic Sales Team. In this role, you’ll grow and strengthen a portfolio of key accounts with NSW and ACT, deepen customer relationships, drive loyalty and identify new opportunities that improve revenue and EBIT across active and future projects within your defined geographical area.

What you’ll be doing

  • Manage a portfolio of key accounts with active or future projects, building strong relationships across customer organisations.
  • Develop and implement account strategies that drive sales and profit growth across customers, projects and allied subcontractors.
  • Identify and capitalise on opportunities to expand the range of Coates products and services through site-by-site and customer-by-customer growth, including cross-selling opportunities.
  • Apply structured sales processes and leading sales methodologies in customer pursuits and day-to-day account management.
  • Maintain accurate customer, contact and organisational information in CRM, ensuring strong account visibility and data integrity.
  • Support strong commercial outcomes by driving adherence to negotiated pricing, terms and conditions, and resolving disputes effectively at customer and site level.
  • Share market intelligence, subcontractor leads, long-term hire opportunities, competitor activity and customer insights with internal stakeholders to support broader business growth.
  • Lead Coates’ uncompromising Safety-First culture in all customer relationships and interactions.
  • Travel regularly within NSW/ACT to maintain strong customer engagement and visibility.

What you’ll bring to the role

  • Experience in account management, sales growth and customer relationship development
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively at all levels across Coates and customer businesses.
  • Proven leadership, planning, time management and prioritisation capability.
  • Commercial acumen and the ability to make sound, profitable decisions.
  • Strong negotiation capability with a win-win, solutions-focused approach.
  • Experience working within complex stakeholder environments and using CRM systems to manage customer information and account activity.
  • A qualification in sales, customer service or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
