Based at the Coates Hume Portables branch, the Operations Supervisor plays a key role in delivering end‑to‑end portable building and temporary facility solutions across a range of customer projects and sites. Acting as the on‑site Coates representative, you will lead teams, coordinate logistics, manage safety and work closely with customers to ensure high‑quality, compliant outcomes aligned with Coates’ Safety First – Zero Harm culture.

 

 

Your typical day will include:

 

  • Planning, coordinating and overseeing the supply and installation of portable buildings and temporary facilities
  • Leading and supervising operational and installation teams to achieve safe, timely and quality outcomes
  • Acting as the primary on‑site contact for customers, managing relationships and expectations
  • Coordinating plant, equipment, logistics and resourcing in collaboration with branch teams and contractors
  • Managing site conditions, scheduling changes and variations to minimise delays and downtime
  • Leading safety on site, including prestarts, toolbox talks and ensuring compliance with HSEQ requirements
  • Ensuring hire schedules, inspections and project documentation are completed accurately
  • Promoting a clean, safe and organised work environment across sites and facilities

What you’ll bring to the role

  • A relevant trade qualification or experience in construction, building, installation, facilities or hire equipment environments
  • Strong site experience, including the preparation and management of risk assessments and SWMS
  • Experience leading teams and coordinating work across customer projects or multiple sites
  • A customer‑focused mindset with the ability to build strong working relationships
  • Strong planning, organisational and problem‑solving skills
  • A safety‑first approach with a strong focus on compliance and organised work practices
  • Basic computer skills (Word, Excel)
  • A current driver’s licence (HR preferred)
  • Forklift, EWP (>11m) or Basic Rigging licences are advantageous but not essential
