The Yardperson position at our Geraldton branch is a key support role, responsible for maintaining the yard and ensuring the safe and efficient loading and unloading of equipment.
You will play an important part in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, supporting both internal teams and customers while maintaining a high standard of safety and yard presentation.
In addition to providing a high level of customer service, you will:
- Safely load and unload equipment using appropriate handling and load restraint procedures
- Conduct pre- and post-hire equipment checks to ensure items are in good working condition
- Perform general yard duties, including cleaning, organising, and maintaining equipment and facilities
- Assist with the basic servicing and minor repairs of non-high-risk equipment in a workshop environment
- Maintain accurate records and complete required documentation (e.g. checklists, safety paperwork)
- Support stock control, equipment tracking, and yard organisation
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and safety standards
- Assist customers with equipment pickup and returns in a professional and helpful manner

What you’ll bring to the role
To be successful in this role, you will have experience in a similar position, along with the following:
- Current forklift licence and valid driver’s licence
- High-risk work competencies, including forklift operation and use of access equipment (e.g. scissor lifts and boom lifts)
- Experience with loading and unloading equipment including knowledge of load restraint practices
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety with a proactive safety mindset
- Previous experience within the mining industry
- Basic mechanical knowledge and aptitude
- Sound understanding of safety systems, including JSEAs and Take 5s
- HR licence (desirable but not essential)
