About the Role
As a Yardperson, you'll be responsible for ensuring equipment is clean, organised, ready for hire and safely stored within the branch. You'll assist with loading and unloading equipment, maintaining a tidy yard, and supporting basic maintenance activities to keep our operations running smoothly.
What You'll Be Doing
- Maintain a safe, clean and organised yard environment
- Wash, clean and prepare equipment for customer hire
- Load and unload equipment safely from customer and transport vehicles
- Operate forklifts and other equipment as required
- Conduct equipment checks and assist with basic maintenance tasks
- Support stock control and equipment movements within the branch
- Complete required paperwork and system updates
- Deliver exceptional customer service to internal and external customers
- Contribute to Coates' Safety First culture and commitment to Zero Harm
About You
We're looking for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in maintaining high standards, and thrives in a team environment.
- You'll ideally bring:
- Strong commitment to workplace safety
- Current driver's licence
- Forklift licence (or willingness to obtain)
- Basic mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience in equipment hire, warehousing, logistics or yard operations is highly regarded
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
