As an Operations Supervisor you will lead a busy, high‑volume yard environment where transport movements, loading and unloading, traffic management and site safety are the top priorities.
This is a critical leadership role overseeing daily yard and transport operations at a large, interconnected hub site.
You’ll lead a team of yard personnel and work closely with stakeholders to ensure the yard operates safely, efficiently and compliantly, with a strong focus on transport coordination and physical vehicle movements.
As well as providing a high level of customer service, you will
- Lead daily yard operations with priority on safe loading and unloading of equipment
- Manage high volumes of truck movements and yard traffic flow
- Supervise a team of 4–6 yard personnel
- Maintain high standards of safety, compliance, and traffic management
- Coordinate yard staff availability for spotting and loading activities
- Oversee site maintenance, security and contractor compliance
- Ensure equipment presentation standards are maintained in the yard and on customer sites
- Support continuous improvement, labour planning and operational efficiency
- Ensure site activities comply with company policies and procedures

What you’ll bring to the role
- Proven experience in yard, transport, warehouse, or site-based operations
- Strong knowledge of truck movements, loading/unloading, and traffic management
- Experience leading teams in a fast-paced operational environment
- Solid understanding of safety, compliance, and risk management
- Hands-on, confident leadership style with strong decision-making ability
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, internal systems)
Highly regarded
- Forklift and/or High-Risk Work Licence
- HR Truck Licence
- Trade background or equivalent operational experience
