Title:  Regional Manager - Perth & Southwest

Job Posting Date:  8 Sept 2026
Company:  Coates
Position Type:  Permanent Full Time
The next step in your career starts here…

Lead a growing region. Build high-performing teams. Shape Coates' future in WA.

Proudly Australian owned, Coates has a long history of supporting customers to deliver major projects and an exciting future focused on growth. We provide end-to-end solutions spanning Equipment Hire, Engineering Solutions, Industrial Solutions and Power & HVAC.

Coates is expanding its presence across Perth and the Southwest and we need the right leader to drive it. This is an opportunity to step into a highly visible, autonomous regional leadership role with real scope to influence strategy, develop people and deliver sustainable growth across one of our most significant business regions.

Reporting to the Executive General Manager of the Coates West Business Unit, you will lead a geographically dispersed network spanning Perth and the southwest (8 Locations). In 12 months, success looks like a safe, high performing region with stronger customer relationships and a team that's motivated, capable and growing.

You'll enjoy real variety and autonomy across a broad portfolio:

  • Safety Leadership: Champion Coates' Safety First culture — ensuring compliance, operational excellence and continuous improvement across the region.

  • People Leadership: Coach and develop Branch Managers and operational leaders, building capability, accountability and engagement across your network.

  • Customer & Market Growth: Partner with key customers, support strategic sales activity and grow market share and revenue across the region.

  • Operational Excellence: Drive branch performance, customer service standards and continuous improvement to deliver outstanding operational outcomes.

  • Commercial Performance: Develop and execute regional business plans, deliver financial targets and identify opportunities to improve profitability.

  • Fleet & Asset Optimisation: Work closely with fleet and operational teams to maximise equipment availability, utilisation and maintenance performance.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships across sales, transport, fleet and leadership teams while representing Coates in the local market and broader industry.

What you'll bring to the role

You're the kind of leader who thrives in complexity, gets results through people, and never loses sight of safety or the customer. You bring:

  • Proven experience leading geographically dispersed multi-site operations — in equipment hire, construction, mining, industrial services, logistics or a similar environment

  • A genuine track record of building and sustaining a strong safety culture

  • Strong leadership capability — you coach, mentor and develop leaders, not just manage them

  • Commercial awareness and experience delivering revenue growth, profitability and operational performance

  • A customer-first mindset with the ability to build long-term relationships and grow strategic accounts

  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills across all levels

What you’ll get in return

We offer a competitive remuneration package including a vehicle and a range of benefits designed to support you at every stage of life:

  • Competitive salary + vehicle + short-term incentive program

  • 12 weeks Paid Parental Leave (in addition to the government scheme)

  • Purchased additional leave program

  • Novated leasing and salary sacrifice options

  • Access to an employee discounts, benefits and wellbeing program

  • Clear development and career progression pathways

  • Volunteering opportunities through the Coates Foundation
